Hey all,
I have Traktor S2 and I'm using the internal recording. I know that if I don't want loss in quality I should never reach the reds, and usually set up the recording gain to -3 or lower.
However, I've done a little experiment. I recorded a track via Traktor with the recording gain set to 0, and the track overall gain also set to 0 (compensating for the loss db by auto gain), to simulate a recording of the track just as it is.
When I open the recorded track in Ableton, I see it never reaches the red (just like the original track when I open it in Ableton as well).
But when in Traktor, it always shows red when I do that. So either:
1) Traktor recording at 0 gain is making me lose quality because. red.
2) I'm forced to turn the recording gain to -3 in order to not lose quality, but i'm losing sound volume for nothing.
If anyone could make this any clearer, I'd really appreciate this.
Thanks!
